About us
Formerly as Ningbo Electrochemical Factory founded in 1958, Ningbo Donggang Electrochemical Co., Ltd. was established in November, 2001, a sino-foreign joint venture and specializing in production of chlorine and caustic soda.
In 2004, the company moved from Ningbo city to Daxie development zone due to urban development and company growth. In October 2005, the 1st stage of caustic units (120KT/year) was put into operation successfully. In 2008, through shares adjustment, Donggang absorbed three shareholders’ funds input of Yantai Wanhua Polyurethane Co., Ltd, CITIC Daxie Development Company and Ningbo Industrial Investment Group Co., Ltd. In response to national energy conservation and emission reduction, Donggang purchased the first set of natural circulation electrolyzer with membrane polar distance in China. And in May 2010, the 2nd phase of ionic membrane caustic units (260 KT/year) smooth and successfully put into production, and thus Donggang’s caustic production capacity increased to 320 KT/year. With advanced technology and equipment continuously introduced from home and abroad, Donggang began to carry out the 3rd phase of ionic membrane caustic technical upgrading project in 2011. And expected to commissioning in March 2012, till then the total production capacity will reach 500 KT/year and liquid chlorine 400 KT/year.
Ningbo Donggang Electrochemical Co., Ltd is located in Daxie Development Industrial Park, and it has formed a modern chemical chain with Ningbo Wanhua Polyurethane Co., Ltd, Ningbo Wanhua Thermal Plant and Ningbo Daxie Wanhua Port Co., Ltd. Excellent geographical environment, abundant steam and power supply and transport advantages are facilitating energy delivery and product sales. Donggang covers an area of 170,000 square meters, existing staff 389 people, in which the number of all kinds of professionals and technicians is 118. Donggang people always adhere to the principles of green chemical, environmental protection and energy saving in production management process. In March 2011, Donggang was awarded as Ningbo Advanced Enterprise of the Eleventh Five-year Energy Conservation and Consumption Reduction. In April 2011, it was honored as Ningbo Advanced Unit of Harmonious Enterprise. And in July 2011, Donggang passed the acceptance check of Zhejiang Green Enterprise.
